Firefighters were summoned to a warehouse at 2 Nice-Pak Park off Route 303 in Orangeburg, NY and found smoke pouring from the 380,000-square-foot building that also houses Nice-Pak offices.

Nice-Pak manufactures baby wipes and pre-moistened towelettes.

Pete Byrne, an assistant fire chief for the Orangeburg Fire Department said the building’s sprinkler system had activated before firefighters arrived and contained the blaze.

“Thankfully the sprinkler system was functioning. There wasn’t as much damage as there could have been,” said Mr. Byrne.
